Understanding the Uses of Blogs in the Classroom

Zilker Elementary Art Class This blog displays and discusses students art work

I Think– A class discussion blog. This blog encourages students to respond to online statements and then formulate arguments thus giving everyone the chance to participate often with more thought than what is possible in real time limited class time

B2 – A classroom of 6-7 Yr Olds   This blog is like a class newsletter updating students and parents what is happening in class

A Window into 2i’s World   a blog that showcases class activities for year 2 students in Switzerland

The Greatest Middle School Social Studies Blog in the World   8th Grade Class Blog with links to individual student blogs. The teacher uses this blog to post assignments and upcoming events. This kind of blog help both students and their parents to keep track of what is expected

Interactive Chatting Teddies a collaborative blogging project in Argyll Scotland involving children in P1-3 (ages 4-8) and their teddy bears

Applied Math 40S  A Class Archive where one student serves as the class recorder each day, entering a class summary of activities and major learning. This provides help for students who miss class and review materials for every student.  class and review materials for everyone.  The rest of the class can add additional information and corrections in the comments.

Write On!   This is Mr. Manson’s Grade 5 Classroom Blog where he post calendar upcoming events and more. This blogs helps students and parents know what is going on and what deadlines are looming.

Portable Radio  Grade 5 and 6 students from Ottawa Canada podcasting their school newsletter which means students can listen  to school events on their way to school or on their way home or anywhere they can use their ipod, all they need to do is find the podcast and subscribe to the podcast.
